Here is the fine print. The nitty gritty. Nothing out of the ordinary. Basically, you train at your own risk. Be sensible. We do not promise to turn granny into Superwoman, but try to give people the tools to help themselves become fitter and more able to defend themselves. ASSERTIVE FITNESS

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read carefully and ensure you understand our terms and conditions of use as you are considered to have fully agreed to them if you use any of our products or services, including any instruction, advice and information about self-defence or fitness training, etc.

Assertive Fitness has the right to review and make changes to any of its policies and terms and conditions at any time at its discretion. Any revisions are effective immediately on posting on this site or sending to you.

RISK & RESPONSIBILITY The participants promise that they and our close contacts do not have fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or COVID19. If so, please go home and get tested. They also promise to wear a mask when not exercising and maintaining safe social distancing, washing hands and making use of sanitiser.
You must acknowledge that there are many risks involved when using of any of our products or services and/or when participating in any sport or physical activity including martial arts, self-defence and fitness training.  These risks vary considerably and may include minor to severe damage, personal loss, injury or death.

You accept responsibility for carefully reviewing, understanding and seeking further information whenever needed to ensure the correct and safe use of any of our products or services.

You should always stop any physical activity and see a qualified medical practitioner if you experience any pain or discomfort. Only take part in training or practice if your doctor deems it safe for you to do so. No liability will be taken for use of methods and activities in or out of the training room.

Purchasers of our products are responsible for providing secure storage, qualified supervision and the correct and safe use of any product particularly when used by children and/or the novice user.

It is also the responsibility of the purchaser to maintain products and equipment in good order for safe use and to safely dispose of any products that are unsafe and beyond repair and to regularly inspect products for any damage or deterioration.

All our products and advice should only be used under qualified supervision as we give no warranties, written or implied, to protect users from any personal loss, injury or death. The user therefore must assume full responsibility for all risk of injuries.

Assertive Fitness and associated manufacturers, importers and distributors assume no liability for any personal loss, injury or death suffered while using our products or services.
COVID19 You do not have flu or cold symptoms, fever or a cough or breathing problems, do not have COVID19, have not been in contact with anyone with it in the past three weeks, have not been overseas in the past fortnight.
INSTRUCTION & ADVICE
Assertive Fitness does not advocate using martial arts or self-defence in any dangerous or offensive manner which includes any inappropriate or excessive physical contact whether in a training situation or in real life. Clients promise to only use the skills taught in emergency self-defence, never to attack.

To reduce the risk of injury and to encourage steady progress we also do not recommend going beyond the appropriate and safe individual skill and fitness levels. Only participate if your doctor advises that is safe for you to do so.

Assertive Fitness products and equipment are not intended for full contact use. They are not guaranteed to stop injuries or reduce the impact of all injuries that may occur.

All equipment used or sold by Assertive Fitness that is intended to reduce impact and the risk of injury is only designed for controlled light contact use defined as minimal force not intended to cause pain or injury.

Inexperienced users and minors must always be well supervised and instructed on proper technique and safe practices whether training with or without equipment.

Any advice, tips or instruction given by Assertive Fitness either online or in our classes are only general in nature and therefore may not apply to everyone's individual circumstances as skill and fitness levels vary considerably.

HEALTH & CONTACT INFORMATION
Whenever providing us with any information it is your responsibility to make sure it is accurate and to correct any errors made or changes to that information as soon as possible so we can provide you with the best professional service possible.

You are responsible for any loss, extra expense or injury. This particularly applies if it is a result of you giving us any incorrect or inadequate information such as relevant medical condition, physical limitations and address and contact details or courier instructions.

Under 18 year olds must have parental or guardian approval before participating in any of our classes, or using any of our products.

To reduce risk and avoid accidents, injury or any adverse effects you are advised before participating in any sport or physical activity to seek professional advice relating to your particular circumstances such as may be given by a qualified instructor, personal trainer or medical practitioner. Always tell give appropriate and timely feedback and updates to your instructor regarding your physical condition.

Professional and experienced supervision is also vital to ensure correct technique and to reduce the risk of injury particularly with children and inexperienced participants.

It is always recommended and is the user's responsibility to wear a full set of protective equipment that is designed for the relevant type of activity and always to use equipment and techniques that are appropriate. For example: light bag mitts are not designed for contact sparring.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RELEASE OF LIABILITY
As a condition of acceptance of entry, registration and use of Assertive Fitness services and products you waive all and any cause of action, demands, suits, costs and expenses whether in negligence, contract or otherwise, which you or they might otherwise have arisen out of any loss or injury, damage or loss of any description whatsoever which you may suffer or sustain in the course of or consequent upon your entry and participation in Assertive Fitness and the use of any of our services or products.

This waiver, release and discharge operates separately at all times in favour of Assertive Fitness, its instructors, employees and all persons, corporations and bodies involved or otherwise engaged in promoting or operating Assertive Fitness and the servants, agents, representatives and officers of any of them.

You also acknowledge that you are fully aware of the risks involved in Assertive Fitness and with the use of our services and products and that bodily contact to yourself and others is most likely to take place, and that all the information that you supply is true and correct in every respect.

Note: If you have concerns regarding any risks, injury or loss due to participation in Assertive Fitness or use of our products or advice, then it is highly recommended that you take out adequate personal accident and medical insurance.

PROHIBITED CONDUCT
You are not authorised, without the prior written permission of Assertive Fitness to pass on any advice to training anyone else, personally or in written form. Our logos, trademarks and website copy is our copyright. They may not be duplicated or used for anything else.

INDEMNITY
You agree to hold Assertive Fitness indemnified against any claim, demand, injury, damage, loss, expense, cost or liability (whether direct or indirect) in connection with this site, our training, premises, booking site or products.
